Before going into this weekend Spanish La Liga battle, both teams have already been involved in several other games. Let’s check out the latest results that they have been getting to have an idea about their current form.
Recent form in all competition (last five matches): LWWWL
After three straight wins, Los Blancos found themselves picking up another defeat. Their 2-1 midweek defeat against Valencia left a big disappointment on Zidane’s team.
That result puts their hope to even finish second in La Liga becoming more difficult. That’s why Los Blancos are not looking for another disappointment as the’re keen on pushing for three points.
Recent form in all competition (last five matches) :WDLDW
Azulgranas themselves haven’t been in their best form recently, winning two, drawing two and losing one out of their last five. Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side are struggling to improve their position from current mid table spot with those results.
Nevertheless, their latest league fixture did end in a victory as they beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1. Eibar will be hoping to pick up another positive result this weekend.
Zidane’s side won’t be able to call up his two Brazilian players for this Saturday. Marcelo is suspended for this Saturday fixture, while Vinicius won’t return from his injury as just yet.
There are also some doubtful names, such as Dani Carvajal, Thibaut Cortouis and Marcos Llorente. Those names are yet to fully recover from their problems, but could still be on the team.
Mendilibar also have some absentees he is thinking about for Saturday. Diop won’t be available due to suspension, while Arbilla is still out injured.
Jordi Calavera and Bigas both are in doubt to participate as they’re recovering from their injuries. Eibar will be counting on Sergi Enrich up front to create problems for struggling Madrid’s defense.
Head to Head Records:
The last five meetings between both teams have mostly went in Madrid’s favor with three wins, one draw and one defeat.
Their last matchup happened on November 24, 2014 and was won by Eibar with a convincing 3-0 score line.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Los Blancos will try to take all three points. Not having much to play for making things harder for Zidane’s side, but they remain keen on showcasing their quality.
Eibar won’t go down without any fight though as they’re keen on getting something at Bernebau. Madrid should be favorite to win on paper, but they must remain focus at the back.
Final Score: 2-0
