Juventus continuing their quest to freshening up their defense for next season by considering potential transfer targets. Having difficulties in signing Matthijs De Light from Ajax, Bianconeri reportedly considering another name.
The player who Juve are also looking at is apparently Barcelona defender, Samuel Umtiti. He hasn’t been playing regularly this season due to injury and losing competition against Clement Lenglet.
Blaugrana themselves are apparently open to sale the player, but only for the right price. The Turin giant will try to see whether they can make an offer that Barca will accept.
Interestingly, Juventus’ competition in chasing De Light is Barcelona, so in a way things can work for both teams favor. If Ernesto Valverde’s side can secure the Ajax’s star, the Spanish giant might agree selling their Italian counterpart, Umtiti.
However, it also depends on how keen and persistence are Juve with the young Dutch defender. If the Old Lady still consider De Ligt as their number one choice, they certainly will try hard at first, before considering alternative later on.
Umtiti himself would actually be a pretty positive purchasing for Juventus. The French international is still very young and was highly regarded before his recent long injury.
Having recovered already, the 25-year-old is still looking for more playing time at the time being.
