Napoli apparently looking to improve their defense for next summer following reports that they’re targeting a new right back. Rumors from Italian media suggesting that I Partenopei are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier.
II Corriere dello Sport claiming that contacts between Carlo Ancelotti’s side and the player’s entourage has started. It looks like an intermediary who represents Trippier already starting conversations over possible deal.
It won’t be easy for Napoli to snatch the England international, but he is not someone untouchable for Mauricio Pochettino. The 28-year-old has been making some mistakes this season, putting his position far from being fans favorite.
Nevertheless, Spurs certainly won’t let him leave on cheap as they also need to look for a replacement. However, if a good offer arrives, Pochettino will certainly consider it.
Trippier himself is not a young player anymore, so Tottenham might think that it’s time for them to part ways. The England international is not always a regular so far this season.
Napoli’s interest in the Englishman is quite interesting though since they still have other players in that position. Kevin Malcuit and Elseid Hysaj both are two good right backs whose future will be in doubt.
If Trippier do arrive next summer, one of Malcuit or Hysaj might be departing San Paolo.
