Battling for top four is not the only battle that Manchester United are in as they’re also set to fight in the market. The media are claiming that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking to battle for Christian Eriksen.
The Tottenham Hotspur’s man will have his contract end in 2020 and no renewal is happening for now. That triggers interest from many teams, which includes Man United.
The Red Devils won’t have an easy transfer war though as they must face Real Madrid and Juventus. Those two giants are in a much better situation than United at the moment, making things even more difficult.
Solksjaer’s team might need to secure that top four finish before even dreaming of getting Eriksen. Moreover, with other top teams being involved, any transfer fee will be very expensive.
Rumors claiming that Tottenham will be asking close to 200 million Euro for the midfied star. That prize tag won’t be easy to fulfil for any teams, including Man United.
The Red Devils’ management won’t be too rash in spending way too much for just one player. However, that number might go down if Eriksen himself showing personal willingness to leave Spurs.
For now, Tottenham are still hoping that they can extend Eriksen’s contract before reaching its final year.
