Recent form in all competition (last five matches): WLLWD
Blaugrana didn’t actually have the best of run ahead of this weekend final clash against Valencia. Valverde’s men only picked up two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five fixtures.
On their final league match, Barca were held into a 2-2 draw by Eibar, though it didn’t mean anything for the champion. Their shocking Champions League exit can give them an extra motivation to push for another Copa glory.
Recent form in all competition (last five matches) : LWLWW
Los Che also didn’t really have the best of record in their recent matches, though their league form has been great. Losing twice in Europa League against Arsenal, Valencia did won their last three league fixtures.
Marcelino side were victorious on their last league match, beating Real Valladolid 2-0. That win means a lot for Valencia as it took them into another Champions League experience.
Heading into the final day of this season, Barca apparently have been experiencing some injury issues. The likes of Ter Stegen, Luis Suarez and Rafinha are unlikely to participate this weekend.
Some players won’t be fully fit yet, but could still get a run in the squad for this upcoming final. Lionel Messi will remain as Barca’s key player in winning this weekend clash.
Los Che doesn’t have too many issues with injury as only Cheryshev will be out for the weekend tie because of that problem. Meanwhile, Lee Kang-In is not available because of international duty.
Geoffrey Kondogbia set to return into the starting line up again, bolstering that midfield. Valencia won’t have much fear against Barca as Marcelino’s side held Blaugrana twice in La Liga this season.
Head to Head Records:
The two teams’ last five fixtures are still dominated by Barca with three wins and two draws
However, their last two meetings in La Liga this season have all ended in draws, 1-1 at Mestalla and 2-2 at Camp Nou.
Battling in the final, anything can always happen as at times a single mistake can seal the trophy. Barca are still motivated to win, following their embarassing exit in the Champions League.
Valencia are no slouch though their rise in the second half of this season have put them finishing in that top four seat. El Barca are slightly favorite to win, but Los Che are capable of creating a surprise.
Final Score: 2-1
