Failing to reach the UEFA Champions League spot for next summer, AC Milan opting for a fresh start again. The Rossoneri have parted ways with Gennaro Gattuso as both parties opting to end their relationship.
Earlier on the day, Gattuso has revealed his plan on leaving the club, calling it a difficult choice for him. Now, Milan on their official site have confirmed that decision and their plan on looking for a replacement.
“AC Milan announces Gennaro Gattuso will leave his role as the club’s first team manager by mutual agreement with immediate effect,” an official statement read. “The club will now conduct a recruitment process for a new full-time manager for the first team.”
Gattuso’s departure was not a surprise as Italian media believes that he will be leaving even if Milan makes it in the top four. However, seeing their failure in reaching that goal, him leaving becomes an expected scenario.
Despite still having two years left on his contract, the former midfielder opting to leave it and walk away consensually. This means, the tactician won’t be asking for severance payment, which he supposedly geting.
Rossoneri will now working hard in search for a new head coach as they wan’t to start working on plans for next season. Only one point away from reaching their goal this season, Milan are hoping to finally get it.
